NY Nurses Strike
Nurses at Rochester General Hospital plan to strike for two days starting August 3rd. Rochester Union of Nurses and Allied Professionals, representing about 900 RNs, has been negotiating with the hospital since October. According to the union, management must address inadequate staffing levels and unsafe working conditions. Negotiations
thus far have also failed to establish initiatives to improve patient care. The hospital said it is “fully prepared and equipped” to care for patients should a strike occur.
