If you’re a travel nurse or thinking of becoming one, how do you determine which states offer the best rates?
The healthcare employment agency Vivian has researched for you. Their Travel Nurse Salary Guide shows which states, cities, and employers pay the most. The guide reports the average salary for travel nurses at $2,134/week, but the highest-paying state, Alaska, pays up to $4,059/week. Other top-paying states include Maine, New Jersey, and New York.

The new GLP-1 agonist medications, such as Ozempic/Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro/Zepbound (tirzepatide), have been a breakthrough for those with type 2 diabetes and obesity (and possibly liver, kidney, and heart conditions). However, one of their mechanisms of action is slowing gastric emptying, which complicates anesthesia even in patients who fast. The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology has issued new guidance for anesthesia care in patients taking these medications.
