Tips for Fighting Exhaustion

Exhaustion deeply impacts our lives, distancing us from emotions and relationships. Research shows that appreciation or gratitude is a key tool to combat burnout. PA Pleads Guilty to Fraud 

Todd Kreykes, a physician assistant from Northern Michigan, admitted to misusing over $200,000 of COVID-19 relief funds for personal luxuries. He faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to theft of government property. The funds were intended to support health services during the pandemic, but Kreykes used them on a motorcycle, truck, vacations, and home renovations. Kreykes has agreed to make full restitution before sentencing. Misusing Covid-relief funds is not uncommon, with experts previously calling it the “biggest fraud in a generation.”

Gut Bacteria Affect Cancer Drugs

Gut bacteria composition affects the effectiveness of cancer drugs, especially immune checkpoint inhibitors, research shows. Scientists found specific microbial communities linked to drug resistance or positive responses, and a personalized score based on these communities could predict treatment outcomes across different cancer types. The breakthrough offers promise for optimizing cancer treatments based on gut microbiota analysis, and it may also help identify people who could be ideal donors for fecal matter transplants.
