One healthcare group is mobilizing to oppose Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination as HHS secretary, citing his controversial vaccine views and plans to cut the NIH and FDA. Protect Our Care
has launched “Stop RFK War Room,” a campaign targeting key Republican senators like Susan Collins and Mitch McConnell through lobbying efforts in states like Maine and Alaska. Protect Our Care is pausing its lame duck work until after Thanksgiving to focus on stressing the risks of Kennedy’s agenda.

UHG Limits Mental Health Coverage |
UnitedHealth Group, through its subsidiary Optum, has been using algorithms to flag therapists and patients it deems to be overutilizing mental health services, leading to reduced coverage or outright denials of care. When faced with legal challenges, UHG continued to implement similar strategies under new names in different jurisdictions, targeting Medicaid and other state-regulated plans. The issue is especially concerning in light of the mental health “ghost networks” we previously told you about.
