CPC Practices Raise Alarm |
Like other crisis pregnancy centers (CPC), Idahoβs Sage Womenβs Center offers pregnant women counseling and other services while trying to steer them away from an abortion. And in its client intake forms, it asks for sensitive, private, and often non-medical informationβlegal under HIPAA rules because its services are free. Watchdog groups and other critics argue this CPC
practice may mislead women facing unplanned pregnancies by using ambiguous language and religious counseling to discourage abortions, potentially delaying abortion care.
