Eye Level = Trust |
If you want to build trust and satisfaction with your patients, meet them at eye level. Researchers evaluated 14 studies and found that sitting or crouching by patients, as opposed to standing, led to
better perceptions of compassion and time spent. While study designs and outcomes varied, and some interventions required standing, ten studies favored seated interactions, three showed no difference, and one preferred standing. Researchers suggested that sitting may indicate shared power, thus improving communication.

Mystery Diagnosis Minute |
Welcome back for another round of the Mystery Diagnosis Minute. This one made me hate mosquitos a little bit more than I already do.
🤔 This disease is a virus that is transmitted from the bite of a female Aedes mosquito which also can transmit Zika and Chikungunya viruses.
🤔 Symptoms range from mild to life-threatening with the most mild cases showing symptoms of headache, nausea, vomiting, a facial, chest, abdominal, and extremities rash, and general malaise.
🤔 Treatment for the milder cases of this disease is mainly supportive; adequate hydration, plenty of rest, and analgesic therapy with Tylenol.
