reignited creativity. Harding is left wondering about the virtues of VR: does it signal a loss of reality or an evolution in how we engage with the world?

Misinformation About Skincare Product Recall |
You may have seen headlines that certain acne products from Walgreens, La Roche-Posay, and Proactiv have been recalled due to a βcancer-causing chemical.β But the truth is more nuanced than that. The FDA
report behind the controversy found that only 6 out of 95 products tested had higher-than-expected benzene levels, but those levels were still so low theyβre not a cause for concern. Those products were also at the end of their expiration date. The companies voluntarily recalled their products, likely to protect themselves from lawsuits.

Why Thereβs βAlways Room for Dessertβ |
Sugar cravings persist even when weβre full due to a neural reward mechanism, a recent study found. In mice, consuming sugar activated satiety-associated POMC neurons in the hypothalamus, which released beta-endorphin, an opioid that triggers pleasure. Blocking this pathway stopped sugar consumption, and similar effects were seen in human brain
studies. This suggests our brains evolved to crave sugar in excess. While the medication naltrexone bupropion targets this mechanism, GLP-1 drugs may still be more effective at reducing cravings.
