Nurse Well-Being Program Launched

Despite a slight improvement in nurses’ mental health since last year, mental health challenges and lack of workplace support remain leading reasons nurses leave their jobs. So, on World Mental Health Day this year, the American Nurses Foundation and the United Health Foundation launched a new mental health and well-being program. Funded with a three-year, $3.1 million grant, the free program has already shown a 28% decrease in burnout among nurses enrolled in the program after six months.

Breast Density Rule Takes Effect

Shortly before the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force lowered the recommended mammogram age to 40, a new federal rule took effect. The rule dictates that all women getting a mammogram must also be informed about her breast density. The FDA regulation took effect last month, but many women may not know what the information means. Check out the AP’s explainer on how breast density is determined and what it can indicate.

Milton’s Lasting Health Effects

It’s too early to know how extensive the damage from Hurricane Milton’s sweep through Florida is, but one thing is clear: its health effects will last a long time. In fact, excess deaths can continue for up to 15 years after the initial storm, according to a recent study in Nature. Negative impact on residents’ mental health impact following back-to-back hurricanes is already taking a toll that could extend far into the future, as well.

Remote Patient Monitoring with BioButton

BioIntelliSense is transforming nursing care with the BioButton, a medical-grade wearable device for continuous remote monitoring. The compact device tracks vital signs, gait, body positions and moreβ€”providing personalized patient monitoring that can support proactive interventions. Your patient can move more freely and you can still have the peace of mind of remotely monitoring them, as needed.Β

Recently FDA approved, the BioButton’s reliability is further enhanced by BioIntelliSense’s recent partnership with iRhythm, expanding its cardiac monitoring capabilities. Their collaboration paves the way for more comprehensive remote monitoring, offering deeper insights and faster interventions for chronic conditions.Β

Looking ahead, BioIntelliSense’s partnership with UC Davis promises further integration of the BioButton into advanced healthcare settings, improving patient outcomes and easing nurse workloads.
