Indefinite License Suspension
Heather Pressdee, the Pennsylvania nurse charged with the deaths of three patients after giving them lethal doses of insulin, has had her nursing license suspended indefinitely by the state. We told you about Pressdee in late May, when Pressdee was first charged with killing three men, ages 55, 73, and 83. Her case has not yet gone to
trial, but the state board issued the suspension on July 20th, calling Pressdee "an immediate and clear danger to the public health and safety."

Nurse Cleared of Misconduct
Another update on a criminal case involves Amanda Burke, a 29-year-old RN in Good Samaritan University Hospitalβs NICU in West Islip, New York, who was fired after a father recorded her roughly putting his newborn into a bassinet after flipping him over. Burke was
cleared of professional misconduct in a state investigation but still faces child endangerment charges. Burke, who is not currently working as a nurse despite an active license, will appear in court in late August.
