Registered nurses at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami are about to receive their biggest raise in three decades of the union’s history. Their 13% pay raise, part of a new three-year contract, has partly resulted from Florida’s severe nursing shortage, made worse by the pandemic. After accounting for other benefits, including additional pay for nurse training and certain departments, the raise could be as high as a 17% increase for some nurses, reports the Miami Herald. |
