THAT REMOTE LIFE WITH NURSE FERN |
Non-Nursing Work Experience on Resumes? |
Should you include non-nursing work experience on your remote nurse resume?
Consider this scenario: a nurse in our community asked if they should include a multi-year role in tech support and customer service on their resume. Initial thoughts? Absolutely! Butβ¦how long ago was this?Β
If the role was in the last 10 years of work history, they should include it for two reasons:
Demonstrate employability. Simply including this role shows that you held a multi-year role with the same company. Recruiters notice tenure and employment.
Highlight relevant skills. Transferable skills like customer service and tech support can help you stand out in a world where you may be handling tech and people issues by yourself.
If the role was more than 10 years ago, you can still include it. You may choose to provide the skills as a quick mention in your professional summary and briefly summarize the details at the end of your work experience.
