When former coworkers Gary Krause and John Sickler met up for a fun day at the Racine Zoo with kids and grandkids in tow, the two registered nurses didnβt expect to be involved in an emergency, much less concerning Sickler himself. But during lunch, Sickler began choking and snapped his fingers to get Krauseβs attention. Krause, who had done CPR on patients with
Sickler dozens of times before retiring, now administered the Heimlich maneuver on Sickler himself, dislodging the food and saving his life.

Thatβs the question facing legislators now that the dairy industry has brought its years-long fight over the M word to Congress after attempts to lobby the FDA failed. The agencyβs February guidance said beverages donβt need to come from animals to be called

Another Nurse Impersonator |
She gave a flu vaccine to another nurse and then offered to vaccinate the nurseβs parents, but 43-year-old Alison Mibus says she doesnβt remember any of that. Nevertheless, Mibus pleaded guilty to impersonating a nurse in a South Australian court despite having no qualifications or training. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail, followed by 18 months of a βgood behavior bond.β Mibus had also impersonated a nurse at a previous workplace, where she stole $136,290.
