It’s clear that AI is here to stay, so I’m curious: what experiences have you had with AI in your workplace? Do you feel like it has helped you? Hindered you? Both?
Tell me all about it here.

AI’s “Terrifying Creep” into Healthcare |
As AI becomes an increasingly bigger presence in our lives, many nurses wonder how much it should be involved in their day-to-day work and how they can prepare for its increasing role. Certainly there are
opportunities for AI to improve nurses’ workflow, but are we moving too fast? Neurology ICU nurse Michael Kennedy shared in a recent essay how AI’s “creep” in hospitals “terrifies” him. What do you think? Is he right to be terrified?

911 Operators Can Reduce Disparities |
Women are less likely than men to receive a bystander’s CPR if they experience a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital, ironically because of bystanders’ fear of harming the woman or being perceived as touching her inappropriately. But if a 911 operator guides the caller through the steps of CPR, that disparity goes away, according to research presented at the
American Heart Association’s Resuscitation Science Symposium.

The Impact of Native American Nurses |
Only 0.4% of registered nurses identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, yet Indigenous populations have created care systems and healing traditions still in use today. While the U.S. healthcare system is still working to support these practices, the contributions of Native American nurses are crucial to recognize and celebrate:Â
Dr. Mistie Wilkie: A champion for minority nursing students, Dr. Wilkie has secured millions in funding to improve recruitment and retention for American
Indian, Alaska Native, and Indigenous students.Â
Dr. Michelle Kahn-John: A psychiatric nurse practitioner, researcher, and educator, Dr. Kahn-John leverages the Navajo concept of wellness to inform practice
and research.
Marcella LeBeau: A Lakota leader and World War II veteran, Marcella LeBeau served the Indian Health Service for 31 years, advocating for Indigenous health until her death in 2021 at age 102.Â
Note: For this article, the terms “Native American,” “American Indian,” “Alaska Native,” and “Indigenous” are used at different times. Learn more about language choices and Native American Heritage Month.
