Jose Gonzales, a nurseβs assistant, and Amanda Cuellar, RN, met two decades ago while working together and planned to study together for their doctorate degrees at the University of San Diego. Then in 2020, Gonzales learned he needed a new kidney due to an autoimmune condition called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Nurse Rescues Dog on Highway Home from Work

As cardiac nurse Amber Streid drove home from work on the 5 Freeway in San Fernando Valley, California, she saw a frightened puppy dodging traffic and various drivers trying to rescue it. Streid slowly coasted along until the dog came near and then stopped and opened

Biden Taps Former NC Official Head to Lead CDC

With Rochelle Walensky leaving the CDC at the end of June, President Biden has selected Mandy Cohen, MD, the former leader of North Carolinaβs health and human services department, to take over at the agency. Cohen, an internal medicine physician who has also served at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was also considered
