Nurses at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis are urging the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to reclaim oversight of the hospital from the Hennepin Healthcare System, citing persistent poor working conditions. They argue that recent employee benefits changes have exacerbated recruitment and retention difficulties. Two Hennepin Healthcare board members
recently resigned after county commissioners tightened oversight of the health system’s budget and management decisions.
