Nip and Tuck to Perfection |
If you had to guess the most vain state, California β with all its Hollywood celebrities and Los Angeles A-listers β might jump to mind. It turns out that it ranks 6th among states with the most plastic surgeons per 100,000 residents, according to American Society of Plastic Surgeons data. Itβs beat out by Connecticut (one of the wealthiest states) in 1st place,
followed by Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, and Kansas. Other unexpected rankings include Mississippi in 14th place and Washington in 40th. The most common procedure? Liposuction.Β Β

Whatβs On Your Resume? |
Do you have descriptive and quantifiable accomplishments on your resume? Check out this resume bullet re-write for inspiration.
Instead of saying: βResponsible for personal patient assignment, charge duties, and other health care tasks for department while on shiftβ
Try something like: βManaged on-shift unit operations as charge nurse on a 24-bed medical-surgical unit while maintaining a four-patient assignment. Supervised licensed and unlicensed staff, coordinated admissions, scheduled staff breaks, and triaged department needs.β
What we did here:
Led with an action/said what you did not what you were responsible for - itβs a small but important nuance.
Provided specific details - quantified unit size and patient assignment. Provided the unit type.
Described specific dutiesΒ
Without saying βagile and adapts to a fast-paced environmentβ, which anyone can say on their resume, we described it by sharing that you are a charge on a med/surg unit, in a patient assignment, and what you juggle while doing it.Β
Check out the Nurse Fern Resume Template designed specifically for bedside nurses applying to non-bedside roles.Β
