The AI system analyzes colonoscopy videos in real time, highlighting areas that may contain abnormal growths for closer inspection by the gastroenterologist. Focusing on subtle changes in texture and appearance in the colon lining helps ensure problematic polyps aren’t overlooked.
The sharp decline in misses is very encouraging. By leveraging AI, gastroenterologists can find and remove precancerous polyps more reliably during screening colonoscopies. This technology can potentially enable earlier cancer detection and prevention - drastically improving patient outcomes.
